Ex-AKB48 Singer Tomomi Itano Holding Singapore Fan Meeting in October

comments

Well, this is unexpected but great news! Ex-AKB48-idol-turned-pop-singer Tomomi Itano will be be performing in Singapore for the first time next month! The JAPAN MUSIC FESTIVAL - Tomomi Itano Fan Meeting & Showcase Live in Singapore will be held on Saturday, 8 October at Millian Singapore.

This comes after the former AKB48 Team K first-generation member's successful first Asian tour "Tomomi Itano ASIA TOUR 2016 【000】", which saw stops in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo. She will also be appearing as a special guest at Anime Festival Indonesia, which will be held at the Jakarta International Expo next weekend.

From Tomomi Itano's ASIA TOUR - a possible list of goods to be sold?

Early bird tickets going for $78 may be purchased from ApacTix from 14 September. Fans can expect to catch the singer perform new songs from her second album, which will be released on November 2.

After spending 8 years with Japanese idol group AKB48, she graduated in 2013. Since then, she has carved a career for herself as a solo singer and actress, with 8 singles and 1 full studio album released to date. She was cast as the lead actress in Japanese horror movie Nozokime (The Stare) earlier this year.

Her debut single, "Dear J" (2011) sold 150,000 copies in its first week of release, placing her second in the Oricon weekly singles chart. She became the first female solo artist to achieve that record since Hikaru Utada with "Flavour of Life" in 2007.

Many of her recent songs are high-energy catchy numbers such as "Gimme Gimme Luv" and her latest single "HIDE AND SEEK", the type of songs you would expect to hear on the radio charts.

Other songs in her small but diverse repertoire include "10年後の君へ" and "ふいに" which stir the heart and bring out her strong and beautiful vocals really well.

If you are a fan of pop singers such as Kana Nishino and Namie Amuro, you may find yourself a fan of her songs too. With her powerful voice and strong image, she definitely has what it takes to make it to the top someday.

With tickets going for $78, cheaper than your standard concert ticket and excellent venue in Millian, the livehouse-club managed by Amuse Singapore with its great acoustics and stunning lighting setup, this showcase is definitely one worth going for.
